Monday, November 9, 1998
A meeting of the City of Euless Civil Service Commission was called to order on Monday,
November 9, 1998 at 3:40 p.m.

Larry Beaver, Alternate Commissioner
Staff Members Present
Tom Cox, Director of Administration
Gary McKamie, Police Chief
Lee Koontz, Fire Chief
Ruth Alley, Personnel Manager
Alice Cahill, Civil Service Secretary
Paul Wieneskie, Assistant City Attorney
Tom Cox gave the invocation.
Carla Shields asked for a motion to approve the Minutes of October 14, 1998. Ms. McCormick
made the motion. Robert Lumpkins seconded the motion.
AYES: Shields, McCormick, Lumpkins
NOES: None
Motion carried and the Minutes of October 14, 1998 were approved as read.

Tom Cox recommended minor corrections to Section 9.16, Emergency Leave, (To strike out
duplicate wording"with pay", and Section 9.03.E, Sick Leave. (To replace the word"service"
with "City".
Tom Cox and Paul Wieneskie led the review and discussion of the items submitted for question
by Mark Lipman. The following items were reviewed.
Section 4.02.B1 and B5, Police and Fire Promotion Eligibility; Section 4.06, Other Tests;
Section 4.14.A, Review of Written Examination Process; Section 6.04.E, Introductory Period;
Section 8.03.D, Disciplinary Action; Section 10.02.F.4.c, Appeals Procedures.
Carla Shield asked for a motion to approve the final draft of the Amended Civil Service Rules
and Regulations. Robert Lumpkins made the motion, Ms. McCormick seconded.
AYES: Shields, McCormick, Lumpkins
NOES: None
The motion carried and the final draft of the Amended Civil Service Rules and Regulations were
approved.
There being no further business, Robert Lumpkin made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Ms.
McCormick seconded the motion.

The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned at a 4:35 p.m.
