CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
November 9, 1995
MINUTES
A meeting of the City of Euless Civil Service Commission was called to order on Thursday,
November 9, 1995 at 4:10 p.m. by Chairman, Marland Ernest.
Commission Members Present
Marland Ernest, Chairman
Willie Mae McCormick
Nell Hicks
Staff Members Present
Joe Hennig, Assistant City Manager
Ruth Alley, Personnel Manager
Alice Cahill, Civil Service Secretary
Paul Wieneskie, Assistant City Attorney
The invocation was given by Marland Ernest.
Marland Ernest brought to the table the Request for a Hearing by Scott Stamps. Paul Wieneskie
recessed the Commission into Executive Session to consider the request pursuant to Section
551.075, Texas Government Code to "Receive Orientation and Legal Briefing on Rules and
Procedures for New Commission Members"; and Section 551.074, Texas Government Code to
"Discuss Personnel Matters".
The Commission adjourned executive session and reconvened in open meeting at 4:25 p.m.
Mr. Ernest asked if there were any corrections to the Minutes of October 6, 1994. Mrs.
McCormick made a motion to approve the Minutes of October 6, 1994 as read. Mrs. Hicks
seconded the motion.
Ayes: Ernest, McCormick, Hicks
Noes: None
Motion carried, and the Minutes of October 6, 1994 were approved as read.
Civil Service Commission Meeting - November 9, 1995 Minutes
Marlin Ernest asked if all procedure requirements of the request for hearing in the matter of Scott
Stamps had been satisfied. Ruth Alley affirmed all requirements have been met. Mr. Ernest then
asked if the Commissioners wished to discuss the matter. No discussion was necessary and
Marland Ernest then asked for a motion to grant a hearing in the matter of Mr. Stamps.
Mrs. McCormick made a motion to grant Scott Stamps a hearing on Thursday, November 16,
1995 at 4:00 p.m. Mrs. Hicks seconded the motion.
Ayes: Ernest, McCormick, Hicks
Noes: None
Motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
