Request for Change of Shift Firefighter Vacation and Sick Leave
Accrual Rates:
Chief Koontz advised the Commission that the pay cycle for shift
firefighter personnel has been changed from bi-weekly to every fifteen
days in order to comply with federal regulations in overtime provi-
sions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. For this reason, the accrual
rates for vacation and sick leave will be changed to reflect the
differences in accrual rates for shift firefighters.
