MINUTES
I. Call to Order
The Civil Service Commission met on Friday, September 11,
1992 at 9:25 a.m. in the Council Chambers at 201 N. Ector
Drive, Euless, Texas.
Commission Members Present
Tommy Barnes, Commission Chairman
Willie Mae McCormick, Commissioner
David Gilfillan, Commissioner
Staff Members Present
Debra Forte', Director Fiscal & Human Resources
Ruth Alley, Personnel Manager
Alice Cahill, Civil Service Secretary
II. Invocation
Mrs. Willie Mae McCormick opened the meeting with the
invocation.
III. Approval of Minutes
Mr. Barnes made a motion to approve the Minutes of the Civil
Service Meeting on July 1, 1992 as read.
Ayes: Barnes, McCormick, Gilfillan

IV. New Business - 1992 Sergeant & Lieutenant Promotional
Testing & Eligibility Lists
Mrs. McCormick made a motion to change the annual Police
Sergeant and Police Lieutenant promotional testing from the
Fall to the Spring of each year; and allow the eligibility
lists which will be established in October, 1992 to remain
valid until the Spring of 1994, at which time the
promotional testing and establishment of eligibility lists
will be conducted each spring thereafter.
Mr. Gilfillan seconded the motion. The motion carried with
the following vote:
Ayes: Barnes, McCormick, Gilfillan
Noes: None
V. Other Business:
Glenn Walker has been asked to serve as acting Commissioner
in place of David Gilfillan until such time a regular
appointment is made.
Tommy Barnes submitted his notice of resignation from the
Civil Service Commission effective September 25, 1992.
VI. Adjournment
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
at 9:35 a.m.
