CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
October 23, 1989
CALL TO ORDER
The special session of the Civil Service Commission was called to order by
Chairperson Mary Balsinger at 3:05 p.m.
PRESENT
Mrs. Mary Balsinger, Chairperson Mr. Jay Heilman, Civil Service Officer
Mr. Henry Boatright, Commissioner Ruth Alley, Acting C\S Secretary
Mr. Tammy Barnes, Commissioner
NO ABSENCES
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Civil Service Commission adjourned into executive session at 3:15 p.m. for
the purpose of discussing personnel matters. The executive session adjourned at
3:25 p.m. and the Civil Service Commission reconvened their meeting.
I. REOUESI' OF REBECCA NULL FOR A HEARING
Chairperson Balsinger stated that the purpose of the meeting was to determine
the validity of the appeal of Rebecca Null, secretary in the Planning and
Engineering Department.
After reviewing the Employee Warning Notice Mrs Null had received, and her
personnel file, it was agreed by the commission that there was not enough
information to make a determination.
Mr. Boatright stated that he felt that a hearing should be granted to Mrs. Null.
Mrs. Balsinger and Mr. Barnes agreed with Mr. Boatright's decision.
Mr. Heilman advised the commission that he would advise Mr. Hart, City Manager,
that the commission had granted a hearing to Mrs. Null.
Mr. Barnes made the motion that a hearing be granted to Mrs. Null in view of the
facts that were presented.
Mrs. Balsinger and Mr. Boatright seconded the motion.
Ayes: Mr. Boatright, Mrs. Balsinger, Mr. Barnes
Nays: None
Absent: None
Chairperson Balsinger declared the motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Commission, Chairperson Balsinger
declared the meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
