Euless Civil Service Commission
February 22, 1975
CALL TO ORDER
The called meeting of the Euless Civil
Service Commission was called to order at 9:00 A.M. in the Conference Room
of Euless City Hall by Chairman W. J. "Doc" Hyde. Members present were
Messrs. James McKinney and Frank Douglass.
Also present were Mrs. Willie Mae McCormick,
Coleta Williams, and Recording Secretary Bonnie O'Brien.
INVOCATION
The invocation was given by Rev. James
McKinney.
SETTING OF HEARING DATES
Chairman Hyde stated that this meeting was
called specifically for the purpose of setting dates for hearings to respond
to Civil Service grievances.
Chairman Hyde presented two letters of
grievances to the members. (Letters from Norman E. Pace and Ronnie Foster) .
He stated that he felt there was not enough detailed information presented
in the grievance letters.
Mr. Douglass inquired if there was a copy of
the dismissals.
Chairman Hyde stated there was not.
Chairman Hyde inquired if the members thought
the hearings should be conducted in one day, with a hearing in the morning and
one in the afternoon, or to schedule them for separate days.
After some discussion the members agreed that
the hearings should be scheduled for separate days and preferably in the
afternoon.
Chairman Hyde then stated that the hearings
would be set for February 27th and February 28th, 1975, in the Council Chamber
of Euless City Hall . The hearing for Mr. Pace will be conducted at 1 :00 P.M.,
Thursday, February 27th, and the hearing for Mr. Foster conducted at 1 :00 P.M. ,
Friday, February 28th.

Chairman Hyde stated that Mr. Pace and Mr.
Foster will be represented by attorneys; that there will be an attorney to
advise the Commission; and that there will be an attorney to represent the
City Manager's position.
He stated that there will be at least three
members of the Commission serving at the hearing.
Chairman Hyde stated that letters were to
be written to Mr. Foster and Mr. Pace advising them of the hearing dates
and to advise them to bring any witnesses or documentation to the hearings.
He requested that Rev. McKinney and Bonnie
O'Brien prepare these letters Monday, February 24th, 1975.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 A.M.
