Civil Service Commission
January 5, 197+
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Hyde called the meeting of the
Civil Service Commission to order at 8: 10 a.m. in the Conference room of
the Euless City Hall .
Members present were Mr. James McKinney
and Mr. Frank Douglass.
Also present was Recording Secretary Becky
Lowrance.
VISITORS
Visitors present were Mrs. Willie Mae
McCormick and Mr. W. M. Sustaire.
INVOCATION
The invocation was given by Mr. James
McKinney.
REVIEW OF PROGRAM
For Program, see Attachment 1 .
APP. II - CLASSIFICATIONS
After discussion of the Wage and Salary
Schedule, Chairman Hyde stated that the Commission was unanimously in concur-
rence that whatever the wage and salary schedules are when finally developed,
that the adjustments be made to these salaries twice each year to reflect
the cost of living index for the Dallas-Fort Worth area. (Salary Classifi-
cations - Attachment 2.)
REPORT ON OFF-SITE OFFICE
The Commission discussed the office needed.
Chairman Hyde asked Mr. McKinney to submit a proposal to City Council in
reply to their letter for the off-site office and furniture for the Commission.
Chairman Hyde stated that the Commission
requests the City Manager to inform the Commission as to the mechanics of
policing the facility, obtaining the furniture, Clerk of Civil Service and
money transactions thereto.

RUMORS
Chairman Hyde stated that a petition could
be drawn up to have State Civil Service take over and he explained how.
Chief Sustaire stated to his knowledge that
a petition has already been started.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Mr. Frank Douglass stated that. the Commis-
sion is unanimously in favor of having a meeting within two weeks time with
the City Council to ascertain further direction, problem areas, and for
general exchange of views.
Chairman Hyde requested xerox copies of
the pay schedules of employees and a list of those on the pay roll .
