CALL TO ORDER
Chair, Bill Golden, called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. The meeting was held at the Texas Star
Conference Room, Euless, TX.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Barbara Collier asked for clarification regarding statement #3 on page 3 under Other Reports: it states that
she received a booklet from Beth Gathings. Betty Fuller indicated that she received the booklet instead as
she's over the photo album Sub-Committee. Gary Parker made a motion to approve the minutes with the
clarification. Faye Stinneford seconded the motion, motion approved.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer, Barbara Collier, reported that the balance for November was $6,299 and $54 was collected
from the donation jar making the current balance $6,353.
DOCENT'S REPORT/RECRUITMENT
1. Bill Golden reported that a group of ladies toured Heritage Park on Friday,November 18, 2011. A
couple of people volunteered to docent but probably forgot about the tour. Leah Bennett volunteered
to call docents and remind them of their tour duties.
2. A Cub Scout group toured Heritage Park on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Bill Golden and his
grandson Jeffrey served as docents.

3. Heritage Park Christmas Reports:
• Members noted that the parking lot was full from one end to the other along Cullum Drive. The
Ruth Millican parking lot was also full throughout the event. There were approximately seven-
hundred people in attendance.
• It was reported that a few visitors expressed interest in becoming members of the Committee
and/or serving as docents.
• It was suggested that the corn grinder should be monitored more closely at next year's event.
• A child attempted to climb the windmill and the father discussed the incident with some of the
members.
• Peggy Vandiver suggested moving the stage to a different location next year. She noted that
people were walking in and out of the park as performers were getting on and off the stage
causing the entrance to bottleneck for majority of the event.
• Suggested that a cord be used to block the entrance to the Fuller House restroom next year.
• Betty Fuller reported that chinking near the gun port on the southwest wall of the Himes House
needs to be fixed. Staff will turn in a work order to have the problem corrected.
4. Oakwood Terrace will be touring on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. Betty Fuller, Jan
Bellamy, Peggy Vandiver, and Weldon Cannon, Norma Lively, Iris Elliott, David Massey and Bill
Golden volunteered to serve as docents.
STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS
1. Acquisition Sub-Committee—Bill Byers:
• Peggy Vandiver has a vise that needs to be acquired.
• Nancy Johnson has a couple of items to donate including an old Treadle sewing machine with a
cabinet and a battery radio from the 1920's that she uses as a desk. The best time to contact her is
in the evening.
• Council Member Leon Hogg donated a Hussar cabinet. Bill Golden has the donation form and
photos and will turn them in to staff as soon as feasible.
• In the process of looking into acquiring a period refrigerator for the Fuller House.
2. McCormick Barn: Bill Byers indicated that staff is currently working on the barn door.
3. Library History Wall/Genealogy Room: Betty Fuller indicated that the artist is working again on the
tiles for the history wall.
4. Museum Setup Sub-Committee: Helen Voss reported that she's in communication with those in
charge of the mural and timeline project. The building is in the process of being painted. New wood
floors are being put down in the smaller rooms.
5. Photography Sub-Committee: Gary Fieldsend has been busy with a new job but he has indicated his
continued interest in working on various projects for the Committee.
6. Evolving History Sub-Committee Barbara Collier:
• Work is ongoing, various locations are being photographed.
• Asked the members to let her know when they notice new projects around town.
• Michele Burger photographed the new Ice House near Republic Tire.

7. Historical Marker Program:
• The Sub-Committee met and reviewed Weldon Cannon's Euless marker application for the Arch
Cannon House. Bill Golden reported that the application exceeded the requirements. Weldon
Cannon made a motion to accept the application for submission to Council for approval. Betty
Fuller seconded the motion, all were in favor, motion approved.
• Weldon Cannon discussed the idea of a local marker for the Grange Hall. He also discussed the
idea of asking the First United Methodist Church of Euless about possibly allowing a Grange Hall
marker to be placed on their property. The Grange Hall used to be located across from the First
United Methodist Church of Euless where the gas station is currently located. The church used to
meet in the Grange Hall during its early history. In fact, the church was called the Grange Hall
Methodist Church at one time.
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
1. Bill Golden reported and/or discussed the following:
• Recognized and thanked Betty Fuller for her support and hard work over the years. Mrs. Fuller
has resigned as co-chair and Leah Bennett has replaced her.
• Will put the Player Piano back in the Fuller House.
• Reported that there will be several elementary school tours in January.
• Thanked Faye Stinneford for taking care of RSVP's for the luncheon.
• May look into a tour of the Greek Orthodox Church once it's completed.
STAFF REPORT
1. Michael Davenport thanked the members for everything they've done for the City. He recognized Bill
Golden for the wonderful job he has done over the last year.
OTHER REPORTS
I. With the removal of many artifacts from the Fuller House, it was mentioned that there aren't enough
available subjects to discuss during tours. Jan Bellamy encouraged the members to give personal
stories about people tied to the facilities and/or people who lived in the area. Several members
proceeded to share several entertaining stories about various people and subjects pertaining to the
area. Veva Lou Massey offered to put the stories together if the members would write them down and
give them to her.
2. Robert Nail noted that he and Iva Nail married twice in the Fuller House. They were married in front
of the fireplace and renewed their vows on their 50th anniversary on the same spot. Mr. Nail indicted
that they may "marry" a third time in celebration of their 60th anniversary. Their children are looking
into the details.
3. Weldon Cannon indicated that lie would like to do a recording about various subjects on Euless
history.
4. Shirley Mercer expects to be more active in the future as her medical concerns are now under control.
5. Jan Bellamy spoke with Robert Nail regarding opening the Museum at least once a week. Mr. Nail
further expressed his hope to see the facilities open to the public at least once a week.
6. David and Veva Lou Massey recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary recently. Everyone
congratulated the Massey's on their special occasion.
7. Helen Payton noted that many more docents will be required once the Museum opens.

8. Mayor Mary Lib Saleh expressed her appreciation to the Committee for everything they do on behalf
of the City of Euless.
9. Barbara Collier noted that Euless is the only city in the US with its name.
10. Mr. and Mrs. Stover expressed their appreciation and joy in being back with everyone on the
Committee. They indicated their desire to slowly begin working with the Committee again as their
health has finally improved somewhat. Betty Fuller recognized Mr. Stover for the work he did on the
master contact list for the Calloway Cemetery.
11. Jan Bellamy is still working on a Facebook page for the Committee.
12. Iva Nail expressed her appreciation to the members for all the work the Committee does.
ADJOURNMENT
David Massey made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Perry Brockmeyer seconded the motion. Motion
approved.
The meeting adjourned at 1 1:30 a.m.
