Vice-Chairman Barney Snitz called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Vice-Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the
August 4,2011 minutes. Allan Gibbs made the motion to accept the minutes and Marcia Brown seconded the
motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Vice-Chairman Barney Snitz welcomed Councilman Leon Hogg and Jan Hogg,
LuAnn Portugal, Steve Doty and Loretta Doty to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Kate presented the August Statistical report.
Summer Reading Program was a success with 963 participants in Youth and 187 participants in the Adult
Summer program. Youth had a total of 8 programs with 1049 attending the programs.
Handicap parking spots are being worked on to meet ADA requirements.
Downloadable books continue to be a problem but we hope to have the issues worked out soon.
Verlon Thompson program on September 9th is sold out and we have 25 on the waiting list.
Dave Walser will be here on September 26th and is the last Masterworks program this year.
Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale will be October 14, 15, and 16.
DISCUSSIONS:
1. Barney reports that the Police Alumni Association dinner is September 24th
2. Barney expressed concern with the reported theft of DVD's and CD's.
3. The Board wished Betty Fuller a Happy Birthday!
4. Beverly Leake inquired about the Library and City Budgets.

CITIZEN INPUT:
LuAnn Portugal is concerned about the state budget cuts and how they affect the library. She also commented
on the great things that are happening in Euless.
Steve Doty invited everyone to the Police Department and Fire Department Open House on October 1, 2011.
Councilman Hogg commented on:
1. Budget
2. September 11th ten-year anniversary dedication ceremony
3. Taco Cabana
4. Fire Station on Highway 10
5. Fort Worth Waterline at 360/183
ADJOURNMENT:
The Co-Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Betty Fuller and seconded by
Marcia Brown. The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
