CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT
MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING
September 24, 2019
ITEM 1 . CALL TO ORDER
A meeting of the Crime Control and Prevention District ( CCPD) Board was called to order
by President Ron Shields on Tuesday , September 24 , 2019 , at 6 : 00 p . m . in the
Conference Room in City Hall , 201 North Ector Drive , Euless .
Board members present included :
Citizen Member Ron Shields , President
Mayor Pro Tern Jeremy Tompkins , Vice President
City Council Member Eddie Price
City Council Member Perry Bynum
City Council Member Harry Zimmer
Citizen Member Rusty Brown
Director of Finance Janina Jewell , Treasurer
City Secretary Kim Sutter, Secretary
Board members absent:
Citizen Member Mike Pruitt
Additional staff and Council members present included :
City Manager Loretta Getchell

ITEM 2 . APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MAY 30 , 2019 MEETING
U pon motion by Council Member Price and second by Council Member Bynum , the
minutes of the May 30 , 2019 meeting were approved by a unanimous vote .
ITEM 3 . CONSIDER RESOLUTION NO . 19 -11 CCPD , CALLING AN ELECTION
FOR MAY 2 , 2020 , FOR CONSIDERATION OF THE CONTINUATION OF
THE EULESS CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT AND
THE EXTENSION OF A LOCAL SALES AND USE TAX AT A RATE OF
ONE-QUARTER OF ONE PERCENT FOR A PERIOD OF TWENTY
YEARS .

City Secretary Sutter advised that the Euless City Council conducted a public hearing at
their regular meeting held September 10 , 2019 , to receive public input regarding the
recommendation to continue the District .
P olice Chief Brown explained the impact to services should the District not be continued .
U pon motion by Council Member Zimmer and second by Citizen Member Rusty Brown ,
Resolution No . 19- 11 CCPD was approved by a unanimous vote .
ITEM 4. ADJOURNMENT
U pon motion by Council Member Price and second by Council Member Tompkins to
adjourn the meeting , President Shields adjourned the meeting at 6 : 05 p . m .
