January 16, 2012
CALL TO ORDER
Chair, Bill Golden, called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. The meeting was held at City Hall at 201
North Ector Drive, Euless, TX.
MEMBERS PRESENT
Leah Bennett, Perry Brockmeyer, Doris Brown, Michele Burger, Bill Byers, Joe Cannon, Weldon
Cannon, Barbara Collier, Iris Elliott, Betty Fuller, Helen Gleghorn, Bill Golden,Norma Lively, Don
Martin, David Massey, Shirley Mercer, Robert Nail, Gary Parker, Helen Payton, Faye Stinneford, Helen
Voss, Jan Bellamy, Peggy Vandiver and Mavy Wright.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Bill Golden indicated that item #1, 2nd bullet, under Status of Current Projects has occurred. He also
added that item #10 under Other Reports should say that Mr. Stover worked on the master list for the
School instead of the Calloway Cemetery. In addition, Mr. and Mrs. Nail will be celebrating their 70th
anniversary and not their 60th under Other Reports, item #2. Don Martin made a motion to approve the
minutes with the corrections. Peggy Vandiver seconded the motion, motion approved.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer, Barbara Collier, reported that the balance for December was $6,353 and $25 was collected
from the donation jar making the current balance $6,378.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Ray McDonald reported that the funds in the budget for the Committee is a little low, he cautioned
that approval must be obtained prior to making purchases on behalf of the Committee. Money spent
without the full Committee's approval must be approved by any two of the following: the Chairman,
the Vice-chairman or the Treasurer.
DOCENT'S REPORT/RECRUITMENT
1. Several members volunteered to attend a "work day" scheduled for January 10, 2012 at 10 a.m.
2. Meadow Creek Elementary will tour Heritage Park on January 11, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Jan Bellamy, Iris
Elliott, Shirley Mercer, Bill Golden, Leah Bennett and Betty Fuller volunteered to docent.

3. Stonegate Elementary School will tour on January 12, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Peggy Vandiver, Betty
Fuller, Bill Byers, Helen Payton, Leah Bennett, Perry Brockmeyer and Bill Golden volunteered to
docent.
4. Regular open house will be on January 14, 2012 from 1 to 5 p.m. David and Veva Lou Massey, Leah
Bennett, Peggy Vandiver, Bill Byers, Doris Brown and Iris Elliott volunteered to docent.
5. A Girl Scout group will be touring on January 17, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. Jan Bellamy, Michele Burger,
Bill Golden and Iris Elliott volunteered to docent.
6. Lakewood Elementary School will tour on January 24, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Michele Burger, Jan
Bellamy, Betty Fuller, Perry Brockmeyer, Leah Bennett and Bill Golden volunteered to docent.
7. Docents for Saturday, February 11, 2012 are Peggy Vandiver, Joe Cannon, Barbara Collier, David
Massey, Iris Elliot, Gary Fieldsend and Bill Golden.
STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS
1. Acquisition Sub-Committee—Bill Byers:
• Council Member Donna Mickan donated a high chair.
• Peggy Vandiver donated a vise.
• Has a 1917 photo of the Euless School with names of students on the hack. The photo was given
to Police Chief, Mike Brown to attempt to have the names on the back read.
• Bill Golden reminded the Committee that all acquisitions must come through the Acquisition
Committee so all artifacts can be cataloged and accounted for. Members may also contact Ofa
Mary or Mr. Golden with their donations.
• Betty Fuller has a stack of donation forms that will be given to staff.
2. Photo Album Sub-Committee—Betty Fuller would like to display the photo albums in the museum
instead of the Fuller House.
3. Museum Setup Sub-Committee—Helen Voss discussed the following:
• Met with the art teacher in charge of the mural and timeline paintings.
• The floors are done in three of the rooms.
• Tract lighting will be going up soon.
• The stage will be enclosed.
• Need a blackboard for the school room. Michel Burger indicated she can obtain one.
• Discussed the need for more military artifacts.
• Had an article posted in Euless Today for various museum needs.
• Discussed the need for more Fire Fighter artifacts.
• Mavy Write acquired several mannequins for the museum display.
4. Evolving History Sub-Committee—Barbara Collier reported the following:
• Is photographing the area on an ongoing basis.
5. Historical Marker Program:
• Weldon Cannon's application for a local marker is currently under review by Council.

CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
1. Bill Golden reported and/or discussed the following:
• Mentioned the possibility of a recorded accounting about Mr. and Mrs. Nail's wedding in front of
the fireplace to be a part of the presentation at Fuller House. Also mentioned the idea of including
a photograph to go with the presentation.
• Informed the members that the restroom inside Fuller House is to be made available for the
public's use whenever there's a need.
STAFF REPORT
1. Staff briefly discussed the possibility that the alarm company may begin charging the City due to the
large amount of false alarms occurring at Heritage Park.
OTHER REPORTS
1. Jan Bellamy discussed a docent training opportunity in case any of the members were interested in
attending.
2. Michele Burger thanked the City for the great work they did on Heritage Park Christmas. She also
wished Robert Nail a happy 90` birthday.
ADJOURNMENT
Peggy Vandiver made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Barbara Collier seconded the motion. Motion
approved.
The meeting adjourned at 11:35 a.m.
