Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:03p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the minutes of
October 6, 2011. Allan Gibbs made the motion to accept the minutes and Chris McAllister seconded the
motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee welcomed Councilman Leon Hogg.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Kate presented the statistics. Our stats continue to be strong.
Kate Lyon and Becky Moren continue to work with Recorded Books on issues with the downloadable books.
Resume Maker is being used more and more and has remote accessibility.
Flutissimo Flute Choir performed on Sunday, October 30 in front of Blooms of Enlightenment. We had 40
attend the performance.
On Monday, December 5th Flutasia, another flute choir, will perform holiday music in front of Blooms of
Enlightenment at 7:00pm.
We are offering, again this year, Food For Fines Week beginning November 7th through November 14th. One
can of food will deduct $1.00 of late fees on patron accounts. The food will be divided between 6 Stones and
the Euless Methodist Church Food Pantry.
Employee Update: Susan Neal will be retiring on December 31, 2011.
The Youth Department is having a contest "Beaking Dawn" for the teens. They will be taking words from the
Twilight Series and making original sentences.
Kate reports that over the Thanksgiving holiday she will be on vacation. She will be in Berlin and Prague.

DISCUSSIONS:
1. Mike McGehee reports that the Friends of the Library books sale was very successful. Total sales
was $2033.00. After the sale they boxed up 237 boxes that were shipped to Better World Books for
additional sales.
2. Barney Snitz reported he attended the Fire Department Open House and the Police Department Open
House and both were successful.
3. Chris McAllister inquired on the status of the ELF Tile Project.
4. Allan Gibbs shared with the board his visit to the Keller Library.
CITIZEN INPUT:
Councilman Hogg commented on:
1. Raising Canes opening in January
2. Rosa's Mexican Restaurant will be coming soon
3. Veteran's Program at the Senior Center
4. Calloway Cemetery Annual Meeting
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Beverly Leake and seconded by Betty
Fuller. The meeting was adjourned at 8:02pm
