HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-05-04Wil Regular Meeting Board of Aldermen May 4, 1953 The Board of Aldermen of the Village of Euless met in regular session a t 7:30 p.m. on May 4 , 1953. Mayor Umphress and a l l members of the Board were present, along with Attorney Gleeson and several citizens, the public having been invited. After reading,the minutes of the first regular meeting of the Board on April 2nd were adopted unanimously. Next the minutes of the called meetings on April 6, 10, 15, and 20, were read and likewise adopted unanimously. Mayor Umphress reported t h a t a l l records and funds of the preceeding administration had been transferred to the present Board. The amount of money, along with other collections, is as follows: From previous administration - balance in bank -- - - - --- $1306.49 From Texas Power & Light Co. - Franchise Tax for 1952 Fiscal Year ---------------- - - - - -- 330.00 From Lone Star Gas Co. - Franchise Tax 1952 Fiscal Year ---------- ------ ------- -- - - - - -- 72.13 TOTAL $1708.62 The following outstanding b i l l s approved for immediate payment: I George Gleeson- - legal services rendered City Council January 6, 7, and 8, 1952 -------------------- $ 65.00 George Gleeson - Attorney's fee (month of April) 75.00 Election Judge and Clerks (Incorporation Election: M. E. Wisenbaker, who was present. Attorney Gleeson lead in the discussion of the various paragraphs, clauses and implications. Since it was obvious that no definite agreements could be reached, it was agreed that the board would meet in called session 14 (Page Two, Regular Neet i ng of the Board of Aldermen, May 4, 1953 ) on May 11th at 7:30 p.m. for further consideration and notation of desired changes.
