Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the minutes of
January, 2012. Beverly Leake made the motion to accept the minutes and Allan Gibbs seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee welcomed the guests to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Kate presented the statistics. The statistics are still very strong.
Kate reports that we have received the Cotton Gin tile that was purchased by Taylor Graef. This is a really
beautiful tile and is on display in the Reference Department.
Brian Burns will be out first Masterworks program on February 13th at 7pm. The next performance will be a
Celtic group,Needfire, on March 12.
Staff News: Leta Jones our PT Librarian Assistant in the Youth Department will be moving back to Little
Rock. Her last day to work will be on Wednesday, February 22"d. We will begin interviews soon.
New copiers for the library have been delivered and they should be up and running in a few weeks.
With the demand on the public computers the city has agreed to purchase additional workstations and chairs for
the additional computers we will be receiving. The eight additional computers should be delivered in April.
We will have 6 new computers in the Reference area and 2 new computers in Youth.
Kate reminded the board to RSVP for the Boards and Commission's dinner. The dinner will be on Monday,
February 27th at the Texas Star.
Kate discussed RFID for our library in the future.

DISCUSSIONS:
1. Mike McGehee shared a note from Adriane Weinstein.
2. Barney Snitz wished LuAnn a Happy Birthday.
3. Chris McAllister would like to submit books suggestions for the next publication of Staff Picks.
4. Allan Gibbs shared with the board that the Friends of the Library will have their book sale
April 20-23.
CITIZEN INPUT:
1. LuAnn Portugal shared she was happy we can continue with programs even with the current budget
cuts.
2. Councilman Hogg commented on:
Sales Tax
Progress of the Riverwalk project
New businesses
Impact of the American Airlines problems
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Marcia Brown and seconded by Chris
McAllister. The meeting was adjourned at 8:05pm
