May 11, 7953
The Board of Aldermen of the Village of
Euless met i n called session at 7:30 p.m. on May 11, 1953 for the purpose
of further study and consideration of the water and sewage franchises being
offered by Mr. R. E. Wisenbaker. Mayor Umphress and a I I members of the Board
were present.
At this meeting the Board had before it a
Water Franchise Contract prepared by Attorney Gleeson. After comparing this
contract with the one being offered by Mr. Wisenbaker, in their various
forms, phrases, and implications, the Board unanimously agreed to offer this
contract, as arranged by Attorney Gleeson to Mr. Wisenbaker in lieu of the
contract he had offered for consideration of the Board.
The Board further authorized Mayor Umphress
to have Attorney Gleeson prepare a second contract setting up rates to be
charged for water, as well as connections, extensions, etc.
Mayor Umphress was further instructed by
the Board to authorize Attorney Gleeson to prepare contracts on sewage along
the same lines as the above mentioned water contracts --one setting up terms
and conditions, and one stating the charges to be made for the various services
rendered, the purpose being to present these to Mr. Wisenbaker in lieu of the
contract he has offered.
The expressed and implied wishes of the
various members of the Board in this meeting was to formulate contracts
satisfactory to the citizens of Euless and Mr. Wisenbaker and to present them
to Mr. Wisenbaker in conference as soon as possible pursuant to their
adoption in the form of ordinances.
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
