Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the minutes of
February, 2012. Marcia Brown made the motion to accept the minutes and Chris McAllister seconded the
motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee welcomed the guests to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Kate presented the statistics. The statistics are still very strong.
Kate shared with the board the thank you note for the flowers the board sent to funeral of Councilman Leon
Hogg's mother.
Masterworks Program Information:
51 attended the Brian Burns program on Monday, February 13.
Celtic group Needfire is our next program on Monday, March 12.
Staff News: Angela Jones is our new Youth Librarian. An offer has been made to fill the Part-time Librarian
Assistant position.
Spring Break is March 12 through 16. The Youth Department have planned several programs including a
magic show paid for by the Friends of the Library.
Kate shared with the board the most current Organizational Chart.
Kate showed the Oscar winning Best Animated Short film "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris
Lessmore" to the board.

DISCUSSIONS:
1. Mike McGehee reported the Friends of the Library have received their first check from Better World
Books. The next book sale is April 20, April 21 and April 22.
2. Barney Snitz shared with the board that the Brian Burns program was very good. The Boards and
Commissions dinner and program was very good.
3. Mike McGehee and Allan Gibbs are working on the library staff appreciation lunch.
4. Loretta Doty inquired about the ELF tile project and the Masterworks programs.
CITIZEN INPUT:
1. LuAnn Portugal shared that she thought the Board and Commissions dinner was wonderful.
2. Councilman Hogg commented on:
Upcoming City Elections
Riverwalk! project status
Progress of the ADA ramps
3. On a personal note he was very pleased with the books that have been donated to the library in
memory of his mother.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Allan Gibbs and seconded by Beverly
Leake. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00pm
