Dear Citizens,
Here we are again. Another month has gone by and we’re still taking things week by week. We still have increases in positive
cases, but I’m also seeing the number of COVID recoveries in Euless starting to climb.
At the time of this writing we are holding City Council and Planning & Zoning Meetings via Zoom. The May General Election
and CCPD Special Election have been postponed until November 3, 2020. We have cancelled all of our events through the end
of May and are evaluating summer camps and future special events. The Library and Parks Departments are putting out great
resources on social media and the Library is checking out books via the Book Locker at City Hall. The Library is still under
renovation and will open this summer. In addition, we anticipate that the construction on Hwy 121 will be substantially complete by the end of May.
This pandemic has really turned our community upside down, but I have been so pleased and proud to see how our residents have dealt with this
adversity and figured out ways to still be positive and spread a little cheer and help their friends and neighbors. A Trinity High School alumni named
Jenny came up with a great campaign to Love Your Neighbor. We have created a bingo card with all of her ideas that is available as a download on
our website. In addition, check out the great pictures and stories in this newsletter. It’s filled with good news!
A father/son duo in Euless created a great news story about our local economy. Bruce is a retired Marine Broadcast Journalist/Combat Correspondent
and independent video producer in the DFW area. He and son Dean made this video to support our local businesses. They really need our help. The
video can also be found on our website.
The Euless Today newsletter has always been a great way to communicate to you, however it is printed a month in advance and there are times that
we need communicate with you more quickly. On the back page of this newsletter are ways you can sign up to receive either email or news via social
media. I strongly encourage you to sign up for the emailed version of Euless Today as well as the Community Alerts email.
Continue to be safe and stay at home if you can.

“My dad has been calling seniors in the community and checking on them. These
are his friends, church members and customers that have become friends. It helps to
provide emotional support while they are bored and isolated.
They love having someone to talk to!”
Good News in our Community
“I’m making masks for family
and co-workers.”
“We are making masks and kids masks.
We sell one and donate one!”
“I’m making masks with a pocket to place a filter to sell
and donate. I’m adding HEPA filters for those up
in age or at risk.”
“Sidewalk fun!”
“My wife has made about 2 dozen
masks for friends, co-workers
and family and I am 3D printing
ear-savers to pull the mask strings
off the back of the ears of the
wearers.”
“The Child Nutrition Employees are
true frontline heroes. This essential
service can’t be done from home. They
are still coming to work and mov-
ing faster than a NASCAR pit crew
to assemble drive thru lunches for
families. They are outside, no matter
the weather and always have smiles on
their faces. We are grateful for them
all year, but especially now!”“My neighbor’s yard is full of bluebonnets.”
“I was moving and accidentally threw
my wallet away. I didn’t even realize
it was lost. The Republic Services
employees found it when they were
emptying the trash can and notified
their supervisor. I was so surprised
when I got the call! I got my wallet
back and everything was still in it! I
really appreciate the care and attention
they showed to their job. I’m really
grateful that they went through all of
the channels that they did to get
it back to me.”
“We each drove to our friend’s house
and wished her a “remote” happy
birthday!”

“Some sweet young men paid a physically
distant visit to the Euless Planning & En-
gineering Building. The signs said, “Hello!
Don’t mind us. We are practicing social
distancing. Hang in there! We appreciate you!
God bless you and your family!” “We made a large chalk mosaic on our fence.
Friends helped us make it using social distancing
by stopping by separately and bringing their own
chalk.”
“No one wants you or
your family to go without
necessities. There is food
and other items avail-
able for those in need all
around HEB in little help
boxes and on little help
tables.”
“Our school is serving lunches every
day to kids that need it. One of my
teachers decided to wear a dinosaur
costume to make the kids smile as they
came through the car line to pick up
their lunch.”“Keeping our Little Free Library
stocked for kids (and adults!)
needing entertainment while
stuck in their houses. I’ve had
more book donations in the last
few weeks than I’ve gotten in the
last year! People have been so
generous to donate their out-
grown/unwanted books.”
“Many of us have taken in fos-
ter animals because the shelters
are full. I took in three 2-day-old
kittens and their mama, Gracie,
for someone who had to move an
elderly parent out of his house and
couldn’t find a place for his cat.”
“Euless resident and Euless Jr High nurse,
Dianna Fisher, sewed masks for the Euless
Jr High staff. Thanks for getting good news
out there. Everyone sure needs that right
now.”
“My 10-year-old son was tasked with
drawing something that portrays what he
sees and feels during this time. You’ll see
that he and I are playing in the picture and
spending time together in the safety of our
home while in the outside world, you’ll
see his perception of what’s happening.
The car is speeding away with toilet paper
and hand sanitizer. One of the virus germs
is chasing a person and Germ-x is killing
the other germ. I hope you enjoy it. I’ve
enjoyed my time with him.”
“I am the Principal of Lakewood! I am
sharing a compilation of all of the things
that have been happening during these
strange times. My teachers have been
absolute rock stars from making reading
videos, sending greetings to our families
making how-to videos, teaching online,
handing out laptops, making healthy liv-
ing videos and doing online spirit days.
They are truly inspiring!”
