HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-07-0619 Regular Meeting Board of Aldermen July 6, 1953 The Board of Aldermen of the Village of Euless met in regular session July 67 1953, at 8:00 p.m. Mayor Umphress and a I I members of the Board were present, as was Attorney Minutes of the regular meeting May 4, a special meeting May 11, and the regular meeting of June 2, were read and approved unanimously. Outstanding accounts were approved for immediate payment as follows: George P. Gleeson - retainer fee for June $75.00 Texas Power & Light Co. - Street lighting for month of May 15.00 Melvin "Mel" Faulk - 6 photostat maps (Village of Euless) 3.00 In order that regular monthly bills might be paid promptly Alderman Tillery moved that the Board authorize the Mayor and Secretary t o issue checks f o r such b i l l s by due date and without delaying for Board approval in advance. This motion was seconded by Alderman Anders and the vote was unanimously in favor. Due to the exisitng inconsistencies and irregularaties in the original meets and bounds of the corporate limits of the Village of Euless, and in keeping with a recent survey by Mr. Shields, Ordinance No. 10, as prepared by Attorney Gleeson, was read, discussed, and adopted unanimously by the Board. This ordinance amends and corrects a l l boundaries. Alderman Anders moved that it be adopted and Alderman Tillery offered a second. In keeping with the wishes and petitions of certain persons owning tracts of land contigious to the boundaries of the Village of Euless, Ordinance Nos. 11, 12, and 13, as duly prepared by Attorney Gleeson, were adopted as follows: Ordinance No. 11 - Annexation of the Freddy Sheppard Tract. Motion for adoption was made by Alderman Anders with second by Alderman Tillery. The vote was unanimously in favoe. (Copy of Ordinance No. 11 on file in Office of City Secretary.) Ordinance No. 12 - Annexing the Cottingham Tract. Motion for adoption was made by Alderman Anders with second by Alderman Fuller. The vote was unanimously in favor.
