Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the minutes of
April 5. 2012. Allan Gibbs made the motion to accept the minutes and Barney Snitz seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee welcomed the guests to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Kate presented the statistics.
The staff luncheon provided by the Library Board and Central Market was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed the
food and especially the recognition by the board. Mike McGehee has a thank you card signed by the staff.
Friends of the Library Book Sale raised $2007.00.
Summer Reading Program starts on June 1. The theme this year is "Get A Clue...at the Library." The kickoff
program for the Youth is on June 2 with "Snake Encounters." All of the programs this summer are being paid
for by the proceeds from the Friends of the Library Book Sales.
We will be offering color printing for the public computers very soon. We are working on making a decision
on the cost per copy for each color copy. The cost of the cartridges for the new printer is a great deal more than
the black and white copies. We currently charge I Ocents per page for the black and white printer copies. We
are looking at charging $1.00 per page for color copies. The Jamex Coin machine is compatible to run both
printers.
DISCUSSIONS:
1. Mike McGehee reports that the Friends of the Library are working with Better World Books to help
sell books. This last sale was the second time books have been shipped out after the book sale.
They recently received another check and are encouraged this is a good avenue to sell books during
the year.
2. Mike McGehee passed around the Thank You card from the Library Staff for the luncheon from the
board.
3. Chris McAllister shared with the board that his school uses the special days on the library newsletter
calendar every day in their announcements.

4. Water restriction have been lifted
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Barney Snitz and seconded by Chris
McAllister. The meeting was adjourned at 7:53pm
