Minutes
June 11, 2012
CALL TO ORDER
Chair, Bill Golden, called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. The meeting was held at City Hall at 201
North Ector Drive, Euless, TX.
MEMBERS PRESENT
Perry Brockmeyer, Jan Bellamy, Michele Burger, Bill Byers, Joe Cannon, Weldon Cannon, Barbara
Collier, Iris Elliott, Betty Fuller, Beth Gathings, James Gathings, Helen Gleghorn, Bill Golden, Peggy
Vandiver, Norma Lively, Don Martin, David Massey, Veva Lou Massey, Shirley Mercer, Robert Nail,
Gary Parker, Helen Payton, Faye Stinneford and Mavy Wright. Helen Voss was at the Museum in
preparation for the pre-grand opening.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Bill Byers made a motion to approve the minutes. Helen Payton seconded the motion. Motion approved.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer, Barbara Collier, reported the balance on May 14, 2012 was $6,466.65. $169.82 was spent on
various purchases for the museum. $17 was collected from the donation jar making the balance on June
11, 2012, $6313.83.
DOCENT'S REPORT/RECRUITMENT
1. Docent reports for open house and special tours:
a. There were nineteen visitors at open house on Saturday, June 9, 2012.
STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS
1. Acquisition Sub-Committee—Bill Byers:
• Quite a few items have been acquired for the Museum including several church pews.
• Still need a Navy and Marine uniform for the Military room.
• Will acquire additional lighting for the Military room and Kitchen.
• Donation offers have been made from cities such as Benbrook and Crowley.
• Shirley Melson and her husband have donated various items.
• A few items at Fuller House still need to be moved to the Museum and vice versa.
• The Sub-committee is in charge of approving donations according to Museum needs.

• Joe Cannon would donate a painting by Kathryn Cromer if there's a place and need for it in the
Museum. If not he will keep the painting.
• Robert Nail donated a bell that used to hang at Homer Fuller's house. It will be installed outside
the Fuller House.
2. Library History/Genealogy Room: Inquiries were made regarding the status of the historical tile
project. It was indicated the project may be delayed for quite a long time.
3. Museum Setup Sub-Committee:
• The grand opening will be during regular open house on Saturday, September 8, 2012.
• Mr. Golden thanked everyone who helped set up and make the Museum ready for today's pre-
grand opening. A list of the official setup sub-committee will be read at the pre-grand opening.
4. Evolving History Sub-Committee—Barbara Collier has some new photos of the Greek Orthodox
Church and Taco Casa.
STAFF
1. Thanked the Committee for all their hard work in preserving Euless history.
2. Gave a reminder to fill out donation forms and photograph all new acquisitions for the City's files.
OTHER REPORTS
The following were discussed by various members:
• Peggy Vandiver still needs someone to pick up a vise she donated.
• Betty Fuller has information on the Homer Fuller house.
• Mr. and Mrs. Gathings are glad to be back and the members were also glad to see them.
• Jan Bellamy apologized for her long absence. She also works and/or volunteers with other Cities.
• David Massey made a note that the last signature on the Log House visitor book is someone from
Slovakia.
• Weldon Cannon needed information on how to access the 1940's Euless Census. Barbara Collier
will give him the link to access the information.
• Barbara Collier discussed placing a donation box in the Museum. Members thought it a great
idea and clear donation boxes will be acquired for the purpose.
• Robert Nail has a 1950's Almanac showing Euless had a population of 250 people.
• Council Member Leon Hogg noted that today is early voting.
ADJOURNMENT
Mavy Wright made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Jan Bellamy seconded the motion. Motion
approved.
The meeting adjourned at 10:45 a.m.
